You feel a bit of a prick really! The kind of people who believe in acupuncture also believe in Mystic Meg, homoeopathy and crystal power etc., you feel poorer but maybe better if you believe in the three I mentioned. EDIT: As you can see Rachel, people who belive this nonsense hide their heads in the sand, did you know that not one of them has taken up James Randi's $1,000,000 challenge, that's how much they believe in this nonsense. randi.org/ site/ index.php/ 1m-challenge.html Homoeopathist took up the challenge on TV and lost. EDIT2: To any certified acupuncturists (and the TDs) I've asked many times why you have not taken up this challenge? please enlighten us as to your excuses, I would honestly and sincerely like to know what they are. Silence will only go to show that you don't believe in it yourself.

I have had acupuncture to treat bursitis in an elbow. Kind of like "tennis elbow ", but I don't play tennis. Whenever I used a hammer, the pain would go up and down my arm. The Dr put tiny little needles in different parts of me - I did feel them going in, and some of them had a bit of a burning feeling for a little while. Then he just left me to rest for about an hour, and came back and took them out. After a couple of treatments, my elbow no longer hurt! What kind of people get acupuncture? All kinds of people! I am a middle-aged Caucasian woman; I was referred to the acupuncture doctor by my boyfriend, an automotive technician who had back problems. His elderly mother also used acupuncture, first for back problems and then later for post-stroke headaches. I really liked having the pain go away without using anti-inflammatory drugs.

Most people do schedule acupuncture treatments for a specific reason, or reasons. Acupuncture treatment is relatively pain free, and it is quite common for patients to fall asleep during the treatment. Patients often report feeling very relaxed and rested treatment. If being treated for pain, some report immediate results. A whole range on people receive acupuncture treatment. I've treated people in their teens all the way up to people in their late 80's.

You don't any specifications to get an appt just call and make one. Getting acupuncture is not a big deal. You just feel a little "stick " that's all. Nothing like getting blood work done with needles. If the correct issue is addressed with acupuncture then you will feel great. Most people feel great after getting acupuncture. All kinds of people get acupuncture. People with pain in certain parts of the their body. People with headaches. People with nervous system disorders. Etc.
