Why does medicare australia pay for acupuncture done by GPs, who know so little about acupuncture, but not pay for acupuncture done by acupuncturists?It's a discriminatory & irrational policy.Why can't my acupuncturist, who gives me a 1 hr consultation, refer me to a lab for blood tests? But my GP, who did not even pick up a stehtoscope or check my temperature when I was sick, can?Why are massage therapists allowed to do acupuncture just because they call it dry needling. Somethings very wrong with the poeple who set our health policies & can be so easily hoodwinked by terminology & still hold the outmoded idea that an MBBS knows all

Hi,We have a 5 year old son that has suffered from allergies and asthma since he was born. Like many other parents who are in this situation, his symptoms do not seem to be getting any better neither the asthma OR the allergies . He has been on every medication known to man, has a very well intentioned doctor that seems to mean well but simply tries to mask the problem instead of fixing the problems. Her response is to give him the albuterol 4 times a day, the prednisone, the pulmicort 4 times a day, the claritin, the nasal sprays, the eye drops, the singulair, blah blah blah. i feel that I am giving WAY to many things to a 5 year old little boy. I am beginning to think of trying acupuncture to see if that could help, but since he is a child I am weary of taking him to any acupuncturist and would like to find one that specializes or has significant experience with children.We live about 30 minutes from San Francisco in the north bay area. Does anyone have any advice or referrals for a GREAT acupuncturist in the San Francisco area? The poor little guy is miserable and I can't take seeing him in such miserable condition anymore. The typical western style is not working and I need to try something else. Since allergy season is coming on, he loves to be outside but it's detrimental to his health and I feel I cannot even let him go outside and play. We were awake all night battling asthma and eyes swollen shut just from going to the park yesterday.I'm at my wits end, I want to make him all better but need some types of referrals or even input on acupuncture for children.

I Went to an Acupuncturist/ Meditation Session Yesterday and Now Blood is Coming out of My Rectum?
Any Doctors or Someone With a Similar Experience, Please Help, I went for insomia and was fine until about 4 hours after the session. I went to a doctor but did not really believe the acupuncture was the cause. He stopped the bleeding and gave me some pills, now its bleeding again I know if I go to the emergency room they wont do anything different, PLEASE HELP.

Can anyone refer me to a good acupuncturists close to Great Lakes, IL? Areas like Gurnee, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Libertyville would be close to where I live. I have been having left rib pain, with swelling for almost 3 months now, and 3 physicians brains just can't seem to figure out what's wrong with me. I've been doing physical therapy for 3 weeks now.....to no avail and I've undergone CT scans pretty much from chest to hips, chest x rays, multiple rib x rays and all show nada. I've been trying to convince my MD to order an MRI, but he's hesitant for some reason and is opting more towards an ultrasound. At this point just keep testing because this rib pain swelling is unbearable. Any advice, or personal experiences with accupuncture would be much appreciated

This certification is issued by the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies wfcms.org . If someone has this certification, can he legally do acupuncture for other people in the US?Thanks
