Why does medicare australia pay for acupuncture done by GPs, who know so little about acupuncture, but not pay for acupuncture done by acupuncturists?It's a discriminatory & irrational policy.Why can't my acupuncturist, who gives me a 1 hr consultation, refer me to a lab for blood tests? But my GP, who did not even pick up a stehtoscope or check my temperature when I was sick, can?Why are massage therapists allowed to do acupuncture just because they call it dry needling. Somethings very wrong with the poeple who set our health policies & can be so easily hoodwinked by terminology & still hold the outmoded idea that an MBBS knows all

If you want to learn about computers and report writing, study statistics or comp science or something. Not only would you have a degree useful for thousands of jobs you would also be educated well enough to understand why homeopathy is such a scam.

I have a patient with pain, increased sensibility and tingling sensation in the thorax, corresponding to a dermatome. What are the best points to treat this condition? Would you use also suction cups?

How can I get licensed as an animal acupuncturist, if I'm already licensed for human acupuncture?
I have done a lot of research on this topic, and the general answer that I get back is that I must first be a DVM. This sounds backwards to me, since I have a Master's in TCM and am licensed for human acupuncture. This seems to be state specific as well, so please name the state you have in mind. Thanks

Question for Acupuncturist?
Long story short, I had dental work done at the end of January for a dental bridge. The work bridge increased the saliva in my mouth. At the end of February, I had acupuncture done for sinus headaches. After that procedure, the flow of saliva got even worse, meaning that the flow is a little more than what it normally is so it is noticeable to me, but not excessive like drooling. Is it possible that a the acupuncture needle damaged the parotid gland nerve causing the increase in saliva since the needle was near the ear or b that the acupuncture itself somehow stimulated the salivary glands as an unintended side effect. Any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated. The increase is frustrating me and I just want some answers. Thanks so much.
