The first is to check your policy for most will now cover alternative medications and if it does not state check with a Insurance representative to see if changed and now included---also discuss with the Insurance Rep what circumstance or requirements exist that would have them cover alternative medication. Am Sure would have to be ordered by a Medical Doctor licensed in the United States and am sure would not be covered if you went to a Oriental Acupuncture Center not specifically licensed for medical procedures. You must,I wouild think, also have a condition where conventional methods have failed but there are documented cases where acupuncture has had significant success. It also helps to have a Licensed Medical Doctor ,either licensed himself to do acupuncture or has on staff or consults with acupunturist, bring your case directly to the attention of your Insurance and fight your need, your cause for he/ she(MD) would carry the most weight to convince Insurance Company. If your Insurance absolutely will not then check into Supplemental Insurance that does that you can carry ijdependently from your existing Insurance. |
