Most landscaping seems very contrived and unnatural. Trees in a row, cement barriers, etc. Is there a form of landscaping that goes for a more natural feel and if so, what is it called?

How much would a professional charge for this landscaping job?
The job involves Clearing the garden to begin with from debris and general rubbish.Digging a 4 inch deep trench that's 30 foot long and 10 foot wide 100 cubic feet of earth .Taking out a patio that is cemented in, conserving the patio stones for later use.Removing the remaining cement and filling it in with earth.Levelling the entire trench at a 4 inch depth.

What are some good plants/trees for landscaping?
I am looking into redoing the landscaping at my house. We bought the house over a year ago and basically all of the plants were horrible when last spring began. We really don't have the money, but there is a lot that i would like to do. We live on a busy highway in a small town of about 600 people. I would like to make our property look better.I'm not sure what I really want to do at all. The front of the house is roughly 30 40 feet wide. Right now there are iris planted up there, the whole length of the house. I think they are beautiful, but it's plain and boring. We have a window in the middle of the fron roughly 9 ft wide, so I'd prefer not to have anything large there. so perferably a bush, but that wont cover the window. That or 2 bushes, one on each side. The bottom of the window is no more than 3 ft off the ground. The side of the house needs a lot of work. The only thing that came up this year was one rose bush, and that hasn't even bloomed yet, just grown like crazy. I am open to any suggestions. I would like a small tree out by the front door on the opposite side of the highway it's on the side of the house not front . I live in central Illinois and the front of my house faces north, and the side I am wanting to do is on the east side of the house, so it will get a decent amount of sunlight.I am open to anything, and there is a lot that needs to be done because I have a back deck that needs redecorated too I'd like at least one small tree, a few bushes, and beautiful plants with bright colors. I do love day lillies the orange is beautiful . Again, I am open to any suggestions. Sorry this was so long and thanks for all the suggestions ahead of time.

Landscape professionals: What type of tree is best to plant in this situation?
We live in a residential area and recently lost a huge limb off an already burdened bradford pear tree damaged previously by an ice storm . We'll be removing the tree soon as it's too dangerous to leave as it stands, it's side weighted towards our house and should it fall, it would fall on our house. We're researching what would be a good tree to replace it with once we're able to plant again. We need a tree that Does not flower pink already enough pink in the landscaping Does not have a wide spread root system probably most important , we'd rather the roots go down, rather than out Needs to withstand ice and heavy winds live in tornado alley , so it should be relatively strong wood, but not so strong it would snap in these conditions Slow growing preferred Branches need to start pretty high or be able to prune back so that they start about 6ft up the trunk.Thank so much for your help. Also, would any evergreen trees fit these requirements?

Landscaping/Pea Gravel experts, got some questions?
We are going to buy pea gravel for landscaping purposes. The problem is figuring out which it the best deal since different places sell it in different ways w different prices , so...1. How many pounds of pea gravel 1 ton?2. How many yards of pea gravel 1 pound?3. How many yards of pea gravel 1ton?4. How do you figure out how much you will need? I know we need to measure length x width, but do we need to do anything else to figure out how much we would need per yard, pound, & or ton.
